About

The client needed a Framer-based portfolio site to showcase projects through visually distinct case studies. They started with a base Framer template but wanted their team to publish new case studies independently, with each project keeping its own layout on a single reusable template.

Challenges

  • Every case study needed a different layout: full-width heroes, three-column galleries, mixed video and image sequences, with no fixed structure to template against.
  • Building a separate template per layout variation would multiply development and maintenance work with each new case study.
  • Publishing stayed developer-bound, so the client's team couldn't create or launch pages on their own.
  • A growing set of near-duplicate templates risked inconsistent spacing, behavior, and design quality over time.
  • The setup didn't scale; each new case study made the portfolio harder to grow.

Goals

  • Let every project page carry a unique presentation while running on one reusable template
  • Remove developers from day-to-day publishing.
  • Build a CMS structure flexible enough to support unlimited future layout combinations without new development.
  • Support 10+ CMS content types for flexible page composition.

Solution/Approach

  • Built a content-first CMS structure: Organized information across 10 content types (hero, project overview, services, industry, technologies, images, videos, gallery sections, testimonials, CTA content) instead of mirroring visual layout.
  • Built a reusable component library: 7 dynamic Framer components (hero sections, project information, image galleries, video sections, statistics, content blocks, CTA sections), each wired directly to CMS fields.
  • Implemented conditional rendering: Components appear only when their corresponding CMS content exists, letting one template support dozens of layout combinations without added development.
  • Integrated media dynamically: Editors upload or swap images and videos directly from the CMS without touching page structure or code.
  • Tested no-code publishing: Validated responsive behavior, media rendering, spacing consistency, load speed, and editing experience across different case study setups.
