A Sydney agency founded in 1990 inherited a platform it could not fully trust. Two years after handing it to Mavlers Agency, it sells that platform to franchise networks with more than a thousand offices.

Zulu8 has built its name on staying power. Several of its long-standing clients describe working with the agency for more than ten years. For one national real estate network, its work runs from corporate apparel to online ordering and distribution platforms.
That last item was where the trouble sat. The ordering platform behind those programs had been built by a previous vendor, and Zulu8's team did not fully trust or understand it. Demand kept climbing, and every order brought confirmations, follow-ups and re-engagement that someone had to handle by hand.
Zulu8 turned to Mavlers Agency, a partner it already knew from a relationship that reaches back at least five years. Around April 2024 the two teams began rebuilding the platform properly. The result became the Z8 Engine, a multi-supplier ordering platform that Zulu8 sells under its own brand.
Mavlers Agency then built the automation layer. Through a Mailchimp integration, order confirmations, follow-ups and client re-engagement now run end to end without anyone typing them.

The hours that once went into manual messages moved to new product introductions and case studies. The platform also changed the sales conversation. Zulu8 had been pitching the Z8 Engine, and it is now fielding inbound interest.
The Z8 Engine went from one live shop in 2024 to more than ten live shops in 2026, across franchise and enterprise clients. The platform now targets franchise scale. The largest live network spans roughly 1,700 offices, and a second client is aiming for 1,500.

Zulu8 has also moved into bigger offices and now runs two to three warehouses, a natural fit for an agency whose services already include storage, distribution and fulfillment.
Mavlers Agency's role grew with the platform. It now delivers Webflow and CMS development, ongoing design creative and performance marketing support, and early AI-search and SEO work for Zulu8.
The mix reflects a wider shift in agency work. AI is eroding routine services such as coding and email builds, while platform, automation and AI-search work is growing to fill the space.
After the September 2025 business review, Guy Smith, a director at Zulu8, recorded a video testimonial that went live on Mavlers Agency's social channels on 25 September 2025. He calls Mavlers Agency "an extension of our business" and an "invaluable supplier," and points to trust and speed as the reasons.
Zulu8 added a product line to an agency business. The Z8 Engine carries Zulu8's own brand, a three-year franchise contract and a growing run of live shops across franchise networks, so each new shop builds on one platform instead of starting a new project.
Automation changed what each additional shop costs to run. Confirmations, follow-ups and re-engagement take care of themselves, so extra volume does not need extra hands at the same rate. Zulu8 has not yet shared revenue or margin figures, so this reading rests on the confirmed facts above.
The team that once chased orders now spends its time on new products and new markets, and one of its longest-serving people leads the platform.
