    TL;DR

    • SEO, AEO and GEO rest on the same underlying work. So selling them as three disconnected services can create unnecessary complexity.
    • The common mistake is charging separately for overlapping work.
    • Bundle AEO, GEO and SEO around the buyer journey and visibility outcome, while keeping the individual workstreams clear in the scope.
    • A practical structure is Foundation → Growth → Authority, with coverage and execution increasing at each level.
    • Bundling does not mean every client needs the same package or one invoice line. Use an add-on when SEO is already healthy and an integrated programme when both SEO and AI visibility need work.

Search no longer happens in one place.

A buyer might discover a brand through Google, get an answer from an AI Overview, compare vendors in ChatGPT and then return to the website before contacting sales. The agency work behind those touchpoints often overlaps.

That is why agencies can bundle AEO, GEO and SEO into one offer without pretending they are the same discipline.

Why do most agencies bundle instead of selling separately?

    Because clients buy visibility.

SEO, AEO and GEO have different objectives, but the underlying work crosses all three.

A well-structured service page, for example, can:

    • Rank for an organic search query;
    • Provide a concise answer for an answer-led search experience;
    • Give an AI system useful information to retrieve and cite.

The same applies to entity clarity, structured data, internal linking, expert content and third-party authority.

Mavlers Agency’s own SEO and AI visibility proposal uses this connected approach. Its framework moves from technical and strategic foundations to content architecture, AI visibility execution and authority building rather than creating completely separate SEO and AI workstreams.

    The distinction is important internally:

    Discipline Primary focus
SEO Organic rankings, visibility and qualified search traffic.
AEO Making content easier to surface as direct answers.
GEO Improving brand representation, mentions and citations in AI-generated answers.

The client doesn't necessarily need three separate programmes to achieve those outcomes.

What's the actual mistake in quoting AEO and GEO as separate line items?

The problem is charging twice for work that serves multiple search surfaces.

Suppose the team is asked to improve a priority service page. The work might include:

    • Restructuring the page around buyer questions.
    • Improving answer-first sections.
    • Adding relevant schema.
    • Strengthening internal links.
    • Clarifying the entity and service offering.
    • Adding evidence and expert input.
    • Monitoring AI visibility and citations.

Calling some of this "SEO," some "AEO" and some "GEO" may help your internal team track delivery. But it doesn't create three separate pieces of client value.

This overlap is increasingly reflected in how agencies position AI search.

    Mavlers Agency’s stance is this:

GEO works best alongside SEO and offers technical optimization, AI-ready content, citation building and AI visibility reporting as part of its GEO service.

What does a bundled package structure look like in practice?

    A useful agency structure is:

    1. Search Visibility Foundation

For clients that need the basics aligned before scaling.

    Includes:

    • SEO health and technical priorities
    • Search-intent and buyer-question mapping
    • AEO opportunity identification
    • AI visibility baseline
    • Schema and entity recommendations
    • Priority content and architecture roadmap

This is also where your existing AI Search audit/foundation offer feels relevant. Your pricing framework already positions the audit as the evidence-building entry point rather than jumping straight into an open-ended retainer.

    2. Search Visibility Growth

For clients ready for ongoing execution.

    Includes:

    • SEO optimization
    • Answer-led content and page improvements
    • AEO implementation
    • GEO prompt and citation monitoring
    • Content cluster development
    • Technical and schema implementation
    • Authority and third-party source work
    • Monthly reporting and recommendations

This is where the three disciplines genuinely start working as one programme.

Your existing pricing framework already supports this logic: more prompts, competitors, pages, platforms and deeper analysis create a larger engagement rather than simply changing the label on the package.

    3. Search Visibility Authority

For competitive, multi-market or enterprise accounts.

    Adds:

    • broader prompt and platform coverage
    • deeper citation/source analysis
    • higher content volume
    • digital PR and authority building
    • entity and reputation work
    • competitive displacement
    • advanced reporting and experimentation

The exact volumes should depend on your delivery economics. Your pricing blog already makes the right principle clear: more coverage, more depth or more execution capacity should create a visibly larger scope.

This is also consistent with market positioning: the current agency offers package SEO, AEO and GEO as a unified visibility programme rather than three independent retainers.

How do you decide which version to sell?

Don't push the full bundle. Your pricing framework already gives you the decision rule.

    • If the client has a healthy SEO programme: add the AI-search layer. Your pricing blog positions this as the lower-friction route, with a fixed prompt universe, visibility checks, citation analysis and priority-page improvements.
    • If SEO and AI visibility both need substantial work: sell the integrated programme. The same service pages, topic clusters, internal links, author signals and authority assets can support both outcomes.
    • If the client comes specifically for AI visibility: start with the AI Search audit or standalone programme rather than forcing SEO into the scope.

How do you name and position the bundled offer to clients?

Avoid leading with: SEO + AEO + GEO Package

It tells the client what acronyms they're buying, but not why they should care. A stronger name is something like:

    Search Visibility Growth

    Then explain it underneath:

One programme for organic search, answer visibility and AI-generated discovery.

You can still break the proposal into SEO, AEO and GEO workstreams. That gives the client transparency without making them manage three disconnected strategies.

For instance, our AMs connect SEO & AI visibility objectives to buyer journeys, content architecture, technical SEO, schema, AI prompt visibility, and authority building.

And don't overpromise the AI component. Our GEO pricing is right to draw a hard line here: no agency can guarantee that an AI model will cite or recommend a brand.

Sell the process and scope you control: research, optimization, content, authority, monitoring, measurement and iteration.

    FAQ

Do clients ever push back on bundling instead of itemizing?

Yes. Enterprise procurement teams may want every workstream separated. That's fine. Bundle the strategy; itemize the scope where necessary. The client should be able to see what SEO, AEO and GEO work is included without having to buy three unrelated services.

    The response:

"We bundle because the same work serves multiple purposes. The content that ranks in Google also gets quoted in AI Overviews. The schema that helps search engines understand your site also helps LLMs parse your brand. Itemising would mean charging you three times for the same deliverable. Instead, we structure tiers based on coverage and outcomes."

Should SEO, AEO and GEO always appear on one invoice line?

Yes, if possible. Use a single line item like:

    • "SEO & AI Visibility Retainer – [Tier Name]"
    • "Full-Stack Search Growth – [Month/Year]"

If your finance team requires breakdowns, use workstreams:

    • Strategy and prioritization.
    • Technical implementation.
    • Content production.
    • Authority building.
    • Measurement and reporting.

Avoid "SEO," "AEO," and "GEO" as separate lines. It invites scope debates and duplicate-work questions.

Is there a case for keeping them separate?

    Rarely. The only valid cases:

    1. Existing SEO client adding AI visibility: You might structure it as an add-on to the existing retainer. But even then, it should be "AI Search Layer" or "AI Visibility Add-on," not "AEO + GEO."
    2. Audit-only engagement: If the client wants a diagnostic before committing to a full programme, sell a fixed-price "AI Search Audit" separately. Then convert to a bundled retainer.
    3. Enterprise procurement requirements: Some large organisations require specific service categories for budgeting. In this case, break down by workstream, not by acronym.

    In all other cases, bundle.
